You’ve heard the expression, “it’s as American as apple pie.” Well this weekend the Queen City’s greatest car auction is offering you a chance to bid on the only thing we know of that’s more American than the previously mentioned dessert: a Ford F-150.
Ford “F Series” pickup trucks have been on the market continuously since the 1940s. So, in many ways — the coolest ways — the F-150 really is your grandfather’s pickup truck. Of course, the design has evolved over the years. Improvements introduced in the 1997 model year, the 10th generation of F-150s, brought better aerodynamics, improved fuel efficiency and a larger interior. It was the first ground-up redesign of the vehicle since 1980.
Many consider the 1997 Ford F-150 to be the first modern light-duty pickup truck. It combines the utility that made the vehicle famous for generations with modern technology to make a truck for the everyman (or everywoman). It’s a vehicle that traces its roots back into history, but you can drive it into your future by visiting the Ohio Valley Goodwill Auto Auction on Saturday morning.
